Botox is FDA approved to treat frown lines and wrinkles. This non surgical procedure blocks nerve impulses that cause facial muscles to contract, in other words, Botox paralyzes the muscle so it can no longer move. If there is no movement, the crease relaxes and thus, your wrinkles are smoother. Once you are injected, you can expect to see full result in 7 to 10 days. Results typically last around 3 months. On average, most people get injected with anywhere between 20 and 40 units. During your consult you will be asked what areas concern you and what your expectations are. If your concern is the line between your brows, the nurse practitioner will examine that area and determine how many units would be needed in order to relax the muscle. Treatment is customized and specific to each individual patient. For a complete list of risks associated with the treatment, please visit www.botoxcosmetic.com.
Dermal Fillers are a great way to restore volume and add fullness to help lift and sculpt the face. As we age, we lose volume and laxity, causing sagging and deep wrinkles. Dermal fillers are used to treat the lips and cheeks by adding volume, they are also used to treat deep wrinkles around the mouth and nasal labial area.JUVÉDERM® is a “next-generation” dermal filler. This smooth, consistency gel helps to instantly restore volume to skin and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM® is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration. There is little down time with this injection. Redness at the injection side, slight swelling, and possible bruising are the most common. Since hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our bodies, the chances of having an allergic reaction is minimal. For a full list of risks please visit the manufacturers website at www.juvederm.com.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has become very popular in the last few years as it is one of the most natural of all the facial aesthetic injectable treatments available today. It has been made popular by celebrities, and has been called the Vampire facial and the Blood facial. This treatment involves having one’s blood drawn and then separated in a centrifuge after which the liquid component of the blood is further separated revealing the plasma. Plasma is concentrated with platelets, growth factors and other collagen stimulating components. The plasma is then injected throughout the entire face, with a focus on any areas of complaint that you may have. The result is an overall subtle refreshed look and reduction or elimination of lines and wrinkles. PRP facials are recommended to be repeated 4-6 weeks after the first treatment and then annually.
